ROLA is an award-winning Seattle and Miami based vocalist. The timbre of her voice grabs your attention yet reassures you with excellent pitch and control as she delivers her repertoire of originals, jazz standards, and Brazilian tunes, and pop covers.

In 2014, ROLA was named the winner of the high school division Seattle-Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist competition, leading to guest performances at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley in Seattle and the Jazz Queen Vocal Contest in Kobe, Japan.

In 2015, Downbeat Magazine named ROLA the national winner of their 38th annual Student Music Awards in the high school vocal jazz soloist category. Downbeat said of her, “You are the total package! Beautiful, clear sound, great pitch, effortless flexibility of motion. A pleasure to listen to.”

ROLA also performed with Lance Buller and the Roadsters in 2015, recording a KPLU studio session and broadcasting live on the radio. 

Seattle, WA native, ROLA graduated from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida in 2020. She received a bachelor’s degree in music with an emphasis in jazz vocal performance, as well as a B.S. in neuroscience. ROLA plans to further her science career by pursuing a PhD in neuroscience while simultaneously writing and producing originals for an upcoming album.
